Level up! With Plus8, the Plus Project enters it's eighth year! The reason I appreciate this project so much is it truly allows me to never completely drop creating music. While this past year has been drier for music creation, whenever this time comes around, I saddle up and know I have to spend at least a day crafting something. I'm very thankful for the expectation I've set for myself.

For this year's piece, since I've been in a nostalgic mood lately, I decided to go with an 8-bit style tune. Using simple instrumentation made this a fun piece to make, as I was able to focus more on the melody and harmonies as opposed to worrying creating a cool synth or sound. Working from a tried-and-true palette of sounds, I really wanted to have a catchy, upbeat, and fun melody to go along with the classic rhythm of the past Plus Project pieces. If you're a fan of retro games, 8-bit/chiptune styled music, I think you'll enjoy this year's piece. Until next year.... Enjoy!
