This song is very special to me, it's actually a rework of a much older piece of mine I did back in November 2009. It was originally inspired by a poem written by a close friend of mine. It was the first time something truly inspired me to write something and it was essentially the first "full" wholly original song I did, played and recorded on a keyboard of mine. The original is very rough and sounds incredibly unfinished, but it was the content of it that mattered.
Reconstructing this song was a challenge as I tried to take the important qualities and feelings that existed in the original and keep them intact in this remake. I think I did a pretty good job of that while adding substantial and appropriate depth to it. I learned quite a bit about mixing working on this track. It was also a very unique challenge trying to expand and rework the song from the original.
