North Kozar's first full length album, The Arbor, is a concept album based off of a film idea, which follows the journey of two characters as they travel through a world struggling to keep nature alive. The Arbor creates a musical adventure into the cinematic events that take place and brings the listener along for the ride.
The story is set in a post-apocalyptic sort of world where trees and plant-life have become nearly extinct. It follows two main characters: Kyra and Storm.
Kyra, many years ago, swore an oath to be a guardian, protecting the trees and natural that remain. She protected one tree in particular for over a year until her fate crossed with Storm's.
Storm was a lost soul, who had given up his life. He joined a group of outlaws and bandits who, for the fun of destruction, tore down and burned the tree which Kyra guarded. Kyra fought back and killed many of the outlaws in the attack, but Storm survived. Perhaps in a fleeting moment of sympathy, Kyra spared him. But in exchange, he was told he must atone for his actions and accompany Kyra to journey and find a new tree to protect. Storm would have rather just ended it there, and Kyra could tell he needed purpose. She took a chance, and Storm (with time) begrudgingly accepted to help. From there, two lives became intertwined, and their story began.
